Make your own Easter bunny soap in just a few steps

Easter is traditionally the time of colorful eggs, cute bunnies and lovingly filled baskets. In addition to chocolate and pastries, small DIYs provide variety and make the Easter table particularly personal. The soap bunnies are great to pour with children because you only need a few ingredients and the process remains clear. Their compact size makes them ideal for guests, classmates or colleagues as a small thank you gift.

The production is uncomplicated: The shea butter soap base is melted, colored, scented and then poured into a bunny silicone mold. About four bunnies are made from 100 g of soap base – perfect if you want to try out several different colors and scents at the same time. In this way, you can create a pretty collection of spring-fresh soaps in little time, which can be packaged individually or in a set and lovingly round off any Easter gift.   1. Cut the soap base into rough pieces, weigh 100 g and then divide it into smaller cubes.

  2. Place the soap bars in the melting pot and heat them in a water bath or carefully in the microwave until everything is completely melted.
  3. Stir the liquid soap briefly and add soap color if desired. Start with a few drops or a little pigment and work your way to the desired color intensity.

  4. Add 5-10 drops of essential oil or fragrance oil, mix everything thoroughly and adjust the color and scent again if necessary. You can optionally add some mica, mica pigments, a drop of vegetable oil or dried flowers to your Easter bunny soap.

  5. Place the bunny silicone mold on a kitchen board and optionally spray it with a release spray.

  6. Quickly pour the liquid soap mixture into the individual rabbit holes and gently tap the board on the work surface to allow air bubbles to escape.
  7. Allow the Easter bunny soap to cool completely and harden before carefully pressing the bunnies out of the mold.
  8. Pack the finished soap bunnies individually or in small sets in matching bags, tie a ribbon around them and label a tag.
For children’s soap, choose mild scents such as vanilla, honey or mandarin and dose sparingly. Skip essential oils and perfume oils if you have sensitive skin or want to avoid allergies. Pastel tones have a particularly Easter-like effect. Light yellow, rose, lavender or mint tones can be combined well. Stir in some gold, silver or mother-of-pearl mica if you want the bunnies to look more elegant and shimmer a little. Simply double or triple the amount if you’re planning a lot of Easter gifts – keep the mixing ratio the same.
