With just a few simple steps you can conjure up a piece that is not only chic and individual, but also sustainable. In this article, we’ll show you how you can design a reusable felt heart pendant that can be given away every year.

1. Prepare template

Print out a heart shape on paper and cut it out. Of course you can also use any other shape. Place the heart on the felt and cut out two identical shapes.

2. Get creative with a needle and thread

Now you can embroider a felt heart as you wish. Think of a pattern beforehand and draw it on the felt with a pencil. You can also use water-soluble embroidery templates. Design your heart according to your ideas. It looks particularly beautiful when you combine different embroidery stitches with each other.

3. Connect felt hearts

Place the second felt heart on the back of the embroidered heart and connect both with backstitches all around. If you want, you can leave a 4-5cm opening at the top where you can insert the manila label later.

4. Make a reusable felt gift tag

Finally, write the name on the label, thread a loop through the eyelet and hide it inside the felt heart. Alternatively, you can simply attach the Manila label to the heart with a loop. And your reusable felt gift tag is ready! The Manila label can be replaced every year and so the pendant moves from gift to gift, telling a new story each time.
