Easy Coffee Filter Snowman Craft for Kids

Play Game

Instructions

Begin with two coffee filters, fold them in half, then in half again, until you are left with a pie shape.

Trim off about 1 inch from the rounded edge to make a smaller circle.

Repeat with the second, cutting off about 1.5 inches to create a smaller circle.

Keep one filter at its original size, so you’ll have 3 circles of different sizes. The smallest will be the head.

Let the child glue the circles onto the cardboard bolt. The coffee filters can tear easily, so they may need some help.

Three coffee filters glued vertically onto a brown fabric bolt, forming the base shapes for a snowman craft.

Cut out a few circles for the buttons, a triangle for the nose, more circles for the eyes, and then I just eyeballed the hat.

Cut paper pieces for a snowman craft, including small black shapes for eyes and mouth, patterned circles for buttons, and triangle shapes for carrot noses.

For the arms, I had the kids cut strips of construction paper and then glue them together. This was definitely their favorite part!

Apply glue to the backs of the cut paper pieces, add them to the snowman, and the project is complete!

Finished coffee filter snowman craft made with stacked coffee filters, paper hat and nose, and pipe cleaner arms, attached to a brown paper gift bag.

I also folded some coffee filters into long rectangles to cover the writing on the fabric bolts, but that is completely optional.
