1. The beginning

First cast on 67 chain stitches. Chain stitches are the most basic type of stitch in crochet. Many projects begin with chain stitches to form a sturdy base or to create patterns with structure and flexibility. You crochet a chain stitch by pulling the working thread through the loop already on the hook, which essentially creates a simple loop with a knot.

2nd row 1

When you’re done with the chain stitches, move on to the first row. You crochet these as follows:

  • 12 half double crochet sticks
  • 6 chain stitches
  • 12 half double crochet sticks
  • 6 chain stitches
  • 12 half double crochet sticks
  • 6 chain stitches
  • 12 half double crochet sticks
  • turn with a chain stitch

3. Crochet rows 2, 3 and 4 of the loop

In the second row, crochet all stitches into the back loop as in row 1. Do the same in rows 3 and 4. Then tie off the threads. Now the base band of your bow is ready.

Tipp: The thicker the yarn, the cozier your bow will be.

4. Form a bow

Now place the two outer, wide ends on top of each other towards the middle. You can already see the loop shape. Secure the bow in the middle with a few stitches.

5. Finish crocheting the loop

To neatly finish your crocheted loop, cast on another 11 chain stitches and crochet 10 slip stitches back. Knot the ends of the thread and wrap the cord around the middle of the bow. Fix everything with just a few stitches. Now you are finished crocheting the loop.

Tipp: If you want to use the bow as a pendant, thread the cord through a key ring or carabiner before attaching it to the middle of the bow.

Crocheting this cute bow is not that difficult. With a little practice, you can complete this crochet project in just a few minutes. Make several bows in different colors. Not only do you use your leftover wool, but you also bring a lot of bow fun into your everyday life! Have fun imitating.
